Normandy Beach Jobs
Normandy Beach has more genuine seasonal employment than many neighboring shore communities. The Normandy Beach Improvement Association operates beaches, Bay Beach Camp and community facilities, while Route 35 restaurants and shops, vacation rentals, waterfront homes and the surrounding Toms River–Brick economy create additional opportunities.
Working in and Around Normandy Beach
Normandy Beach is primarily residential, but its organized summer programs and genuine Route 35 commercial corridor make its employment base stronger than that of many nearby private beach communities. The largest concentration of directly identifiable local seasonal work comes from NBIA.
Year-round job seekers should widen their search to both Toms River and Brick Township, plus Ocean County government and the broader Ocean County labor market.

NBIA runs one of the most structured summer employment programs in the local barrier-island communities. For 2026, the season ran from June 20 through September 7, with Bay Beach Camp running June 22 through August 7. Applications were due in the spring, so prospective workers should watch NBIA early each year for the next hiring cycle.
Badge checkers help sell and monitor daily, weekly and seasonal beach badges. This is a customer-facing shore job that combines beach access control, visitor interaction and basic payment/record responsibilities.

Lifeguarding & Beach Safety
NBIA employs its own ocean lifeguards, making lifeguarding one of Normandy Beach's most direct and recognizable seasonal jobs.
For 2026, candidates had to complete a 500-yard swim in under 10 minutes plus an approximately one-mile run. NBIA held formal preseason tryouts at the Ocean County YMCA.
NBIA also identifies a Lifeguard in Training pathway, providing younger or developing guards a connection to the community's beach-safety program.
The Junior Guards program is separate from regular employment. In 2026 it welcomed participants age 13 and older on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the 4th Avenue beach, providing exposure to lifeguarding and beach-safety skills.
Bay Beach Camp Employment
Bay Beach Camp creates a second major category of direct Normandy Beach employment. Counselors work with children throughout the seven-week summer program.
- Must meet NBIA's age requirement
- CPR certification required
- New counselor applicants submit a short introduction video
- Hiring is year-to-year and depends on enrollment and applicant needs
The CIT program gives younger participants supervised exposure to camp work. NBIA explicitly notes that CIT participation does not guarantee future paid counselor employment.
- Responsibility around children
- Comfort working outdoors
- Communication and teamwork
- CPR and safety awareness
- Ability to commit through the camp season

Expand the Search: Toms River & Brick
Because Normandy Beach spans both townships, job seekers have two municipal employment systems available nearby in addition to the private-sector shore market.
Toms River maintains an official employment page covering full-time, part-time and seasonal municipal positions. Current August 2026 postings span engineering, roads, dispatch, purchasing, police/EMS, law enforcement and recreation-related seasonal work.
Brick Township maintains its own Human Resources and employment application system. The municipal site connects job seekers to Township employment and departments including Public Works, Recreation, EMS, Building and other public services.
